Chris Rainer of Washington College will be present at the Environmental Committee meeting on Thursday, December 18, 2014 to discuss a storm water project he worked on at the College. Here is a link to his story if you wish to read more about it.


In compliance with the Land Use Article of the Annotated Code of Maryland, the Chestertown Planning Commission will hold a public meeting on Wednesday, September 17, 2014 at 6:30 p.m. at Town Hall, 118 N. Cross Street to hear public comments on the revised Chestertown Comprehensive Plan. The draft Comprehensive Plan can be viewed at and at Town Hall during regular business hours, 9:00 a.m. to 5 p.m.

In order to keep our community better informed, the Town of Chestertown is subscribing to Constant Contact. This is an email system that will send you important messages specific to your residency in Chestertown.

When you sign-up for Constant Contact you will receive information from the Town that you or your neighbors will have a need to know. Some examples of messages you might receive would be the Holiday Schedule for trash pickup, new recycling information, election deadlines for filing or registering, proposed public hearings, street closings or rate increases.

Constant Contact will not sell, rent, or give your name and address to anyone. It is specifically used for Chestertown.

During summer weather, Infinity Recycling will start picking up recycling at 7:00 a.m. on Fridays, which will result in recycling being picked up 1-2 hours earlier than normal along the entire route. Residents in the Historic District (the morning recycling pickup route starts on Water Street) must be sure to put out their recycling before 7:00 a.m.


Please remember to lock your car doors at night. There are reports of cars being broken into throughout Town.


The Mayor and Council of Chestertown would like to invite Chestertown residents who are interested in serving on Town Committees or Commissions to submit their resumes to the Town Office.
