Mayor Margo G. Bailey called the meeting to order at 7:30 p.m. In attendance were Councilmembers Harrison C. Bristoll, Jr., W. Whaland Clark, Mabel Mumford-Pautz and J. Brian Kirby, Medford C. Capel, Utilities Manager, W. S. Ingersoll, Town Manager, Joan Merryman, Stenographer, and guests. Mayor Bailey asked if there were any additions or corrections to the minutes of the meeting of November 20, 2000. Mr. Bristoll moved that the minutes be approved as presented, was seconded by Mrs. Mumford-Pautz and carried unanimously. Mayor Bailey stated that the Utilities Commission has cash on hand and in banks of $517,999.97. Mayor Bailey stated that the Mayor and Council would like to recognize Ike Manley, who has worked for the Utilities Commission for twenty years. Mr. Manley was present and Mayor Bailey presented him with a citation which she read commending him on his 20th anniversary as an employee of the Town of Chestertown. He was also presented with a $500 savings bond. Mayor Bailey called on Mr. Capel for his report. Mr. Capel wished everyone a Merry Christmas and said he did not have much of a report. He said they had painted the tanks in the filter building, painted the floor and tanks in the pump room and the men had done a good job on it. He said he did not have the specs yet for the generators but as soon as he gets the specs we will proceed with bidding. There being no questions of Mr. Capel, Mayor Bailey asked the Council to review the bills. Mr. Bristoll moved that the bills be paid as presented, was seconded by Mrs. Mumford-Pautz and carried unanimously. Mr. Clark moved that the meeting be adjourned at 7:33 p.m., was seconded by Mr. Clark and carried unanimously. Submitted by: Approved by: |
