MINUTES
UTILITIES COMMISSION MEETING
April 19, 2004

Mayor Margo G. Bailey called the meeting to order at 7:30 p.m. In attendance were Council Members Mabel Mumford-Pautz, W. Whaland Clark, James R. Johnson and Harrison C. Bristoll, Jr., Robert Sipes, Utilities Manager, W.S. Ingersoll, Town Manager, Joan Merryman, Stenographer and guests.

Mayor Bailey asked if there were any additions or corrections to the minutes of the previous meeting of March 15, 2004. Mr. Clark moved that the minutes of the previous meeting be approved as submitted, was seconded by Mr. Bristoll and carried unanimously.

Mayor Bailey announced that the Utilities Commission had cash on hand in banks of $505,526.15.

Mr. Sipes stated that MDE wanted the stockpile dirt behind the water plant removed and 60% of that dirt had been removed. He said that he was expected to finish next week.

Mr. Sipes stated that the Heron Point water and wastewater project was underway.

Mr. Sipes stated that the Quaker Neck extension was almost complete.

Mr. Sipes stated that the brass from the old water meters was stripped and recycled for cash.

Mr. Sipes stated that the lagoon needed a new lawn mower. He was in the process of pricing mowers.

Mr. Sipes stated that he was undergoing training by MDE on Friday, April 23 rd, which was mandatory to stay in compliance. He would be at a conference from April 24 th through the 27 th in Ocean City.

Mr. Sipes stated that the well project bid opening had an extension to April 20 th, at 2:00 p.m.

There being no further business, Mr. Clark made a motion to pay the bills. Mr. Bristoll seconded the motion and it carried unanimously.

Mr. Clark moved to adjourn the meeting at 7:35 p.m. was seconded by Mr. Bristoll and carried unanimously.
