MSHC and Artworks hosted a special event during the March 4th First Friday. The Artists selected for the first MSHC Art Banner Program were recognized and presented with one of two banners produced from their work. These original art pieces are reproduced into colorful banners to promote our Town's special events, riverfront and waterfowl, and historic landmarks that attract visitors to our unique community .
An auction was held during the event for the remaining banners and proceeds donated to support local arts education programs.
The 2011 Art Banner Exhibition was presented at the event and was on display at Artworks during the month. The exhibit featured picturesque artwork and photographs that capture the spirit, energy and heritage of Historic Chestertown. A gala event is in the planning process to celebrate the second MSHC Art Banner Program. Watch for more details and information!
